About Us

Korean Young Catholic-Charismatic Renewal (KYCR) is a faith-based ministry within the Roman Catholic Church that serves young Korean Catholics across Southern California.

Our mission is to help people deepen and transform their relationship with Jesus Christ through the power and reality of the Holy Spirit. 

KYCR is part of the “current of grace,” ministering to the Korean Catholic youth to reignite their baptismal calling in the Holy Spirit. The “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” is not a sacrament itself, but simply, a “stirring up” of the gifts one has received at Baptism and Confirmation,  thus increasing the experience of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives through a fuller activation of the gifts given by the Lord. 

At KYCR, we are passionate about growing in faith and sharing the love of Christ with others. We believe that prayer is at the heart of our relationship with God and regularly come together to pray, worship, and share our faith journeys. Our book clubs and service opportunities provide fun and engaging ways to explore topics related to faith and personal growth. We also hold annual Life in the Spirit Retreats, which are powerful experiences that draw us closer to God and deepen our relationship with Him.
