Established in 1993, KYCR was first formed by Fr. Alex Chung and a group of 20 young Korean Catholics who were inspired by the Charismatic Renewal movement of Duquesne University. At the time, many young people were leaving the Church, so the group saw the need of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the Korean Catholic Church.
